Duke Memorial is partnering with Camp Chestnut Ridge again this summer to offer Traveling Day Camp at our church! Julia Grace is eligible to attend this year and we’d love to have her join us.

What: Traveling Day Camp is when Camp Chestnut Ridge comes to us! Their counselors will be leading all kinds of activities, Bible lessons, games, and more. There’s GaGaBall, crafts, science experiments, a visit from a herpetologist, and more!

Who: Rising 1st-6th graders from Duke Memorial, Families Moving Forward, and children from a few other downtown Durham sister churches and our downtown community.

When: July 26-30, 2021. Drop off between 7:30-8:00am and pickup between 5:00-5:30pm.

Where: Duke Memorial UMC (indoor programming in our larger capacity rooms for social distancing as needed, as well as outdoor programming).

Why: To build community with children in our city, to learn and grow in faith, and to have lots and lots of fun!

Cost: $235 per camper (scholarships are available) If there are families who need financial assistance, please have them note that in the payment section.

Covid Precautions: Both CCR and DMUMC take Covid safety very seriously and will follow CDC and local government guidelines for keeping staff and campers safe. Right now (though regulations may still change in the coming months), that means that masks would be required indoors and anytime people are close to one another, as well as frequent hand washing. There will also be daily screening assessments in place, and unvaccinated staff or campers may be required to present a negative Covid test in the 5 days prior to the start of camp.
